This is an example of a super-resolved image of the left most peak of "Twin Peaks". Twin Peaks are located southwest of the Mars Pathfinder landing site. They are approximately 30-35 meters tall. This image was created by combining a NASA AMES super-resolved image of the peak with a low resolution color image. Super-resolution works by combining information from multiple images of the same scene. In this case 42 individual images were used. For comparison purposes, path025.htm one of the 42 images used in the super-resolution process. The original image data was produced by NASA AMES. The final color composite was created by Calvin J. Hamilton. |
